Biography

I am originally from north India. I got my bachelors degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics and Economics from the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. My final-year research work with Gaurav Sukhatme led me to the Robotics Institute at CMU, where I'm currently working on my doctorate with Andrew Moore.

Research Interests

I'm currently interested in using graphical models such as Hidden Markov Models, in conjunction with wearable sensors, to monitor a person's health and activity patterns. The goal is to learn a model of the person's state from data based on sensor readings. This project is part of a larger biosurveillance effort that I am involved with.
