<p>I got my master degree in Information System Management (MISM) from Carnegie
Mellon University in December 2004. I had consistent exposure to data mining
related course work and projects during my four semesters there which led me to
my position in the lab. I once worked on several data mining/business
intelligence projects in application domains of machinery, commercial product,
biomedical and medical information system etc. Before that, I spent around 4
years in the business world as financial analyst with Coca-Cola China and as an
auditor with Big 4 accounting firm. I once tried out the taste of the
journalism by being involved in a Entrepreneurship research project sponsored by
Forbes magazine, finally was not convinced that this is the type of job that I
like.</p>

<p>I am interested in every aspect of machine learning/data mining that would
make it practically useful and finally make the life easier in this world. It’s

my goal to craft solution which would indeed address and solve the real
problems, thus make end users feel comfortable, convinced and happy…</p>
<p>I have recent interest in information visualization, high performance data
retrieval,geo-spatial analytics, medical informatics and causality. I have
ongoing interest in data mining from a system perspective, I am worried about
the practical issues in implementing and fielding a data mining system.</p>
<p>I am easily get inspired. And easily get bored. I am always looking for new
insight, new perspective, new problem and new solutions...</p>
<p>By the way, I am not a programmer, though I can and don't hate it at all.</p>
